The North Carolina Arboretum is pleased to host this special property tour, and is proud of its lineage as the first NOAA Weather Station developed as part of the World Botanic Garden Conference hosted at The Arboretum in 2000.

Led by George Briggs, Executive Director of The North Carolina Arboretum, this exclusive tour will provide an organizational overview and share how The North Carolina Arboretum's initiatives are interfacing with climate change issues. Guests will learn about The Arboretum's water management and sustainable landscape efforts and our energy efficient programs, as well as enjoy a scenic tour of its gardens, grounds, and exhibits. 1:15 PM Begin meeting on 7th Floor Atrium Lobby of the Vanderbilt Wing of The Grove Park Inn to load buses. (Bus will take participants to and from the Tour of the North Carolina Arboretum. Participants are allowed to drive on their own.)
1:30 PM Final departure of the buses for the Arboretum
2:00 PM Arrive at the Arboretum
Arboretum Tour
4:00 PM Depart the Arboretum for the Grove Park Inn
4:30 PM Arrive at the Grove Park Inn, outside the Vanderbilt Wing

Tour of the National Climatic Data Center (NCDC)

There will be a tour of NOAA's National Climatic Data Center offered to all participants on Tuesday, November 18, 2008. There is no fee to participate, but for planning purposes, all who wish to attend must register. Registration is available online at www.regonline.com/plant08. Foreign Nationals who wish to attend the tour of NOAA's National Climatic Data Center must register by submitting an additional registration form. Click here to download the form.
